Veneers & Lumineers
Veneers are a covering placed over the visible area of a tooth — usually just the part that shows when you talk or smile. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct technique places composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. The indirect technique uses porcelain or pressed-ceramic veneers fabricated at a dental laboratory: at the first appointment the teeth are prepared and impressions are taken, and two to three weeks later the finished veneers are bonded into place.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed and the procedure is generally more comfortable. Veneers are a great option for teeth with large fillings or little remaining structure.
